Traffic and Pedestrian Safety Assessment – InfraCo (Telstra)
About:
Modus was engaged to conduct a Traffic and Pedestrian Safety Assessment by InfraCo’s Network Integrity group, who have responsibilities to protect and relocate InfraCo network if impacted by a 3rd parties proposed works or development.
Challenges:
The key challenge for this project was to assist InfraCo with a road modification project from Major Roads Projects Victoria (MRPV) Road Design Epping Road which adversely impacted their network including access to their manholes.
Solutions:
Modus conducted a detailed assessment which comprised an independent Traffic Engineering report to review twenty-five (25) service manhole locations identified by Telstra as either high-risk or unserviceable when undertaking future inspection works under the current design, while considering future land use in the area.
In short, all the proposed safety recommendations were accepted that maximised the safety of all road users while maintaining an amicable outcome for the MRPV project.
