The recent Workplace Health & Safety Show held in Brisbane on Wednesday 31st May – Thursday 1st June, 2023 was a timely event that our Team at Modus attended to understand what emerging technologies and best practices are being implemented in the Workplace.
The WHS Show highlighted the importance of prioritizing the well-being of employees in any working environment and to hear from Top industry leaders and pioneering innovators the latest news and research, technology and products shaking up the world of health and safety at work.
The innovative solutions presented in the exhibition were impressive, as they showcased ways to enhance employee safety and health using technology and other innovative ideas. These solutions ranged from projected walkways which illuminated crosswalk on site, to laser line marking that could be adjusted as required in the workplace to mark the danger and exclusion zone on the ground. Of note was Ryan Hodder (CEO) at Incident Zero and the revolutionary product the Laser Safety Halo that we discussed at the event which induces safe behaviours of both the operator and the pedestrian to prompt a reduction of human-machine incidents to zero. This type of technology aligns well with our expertise in the Transport and Traffic Engineering space for Site Safety Audits as we continue to strive in offering our clients the latest innovative and effective mitigation strategies in line with best practice and existing regulations.
Overall, it is crucial to acknowledge that accidents and injuries can occur in any industry, and it is the responsibility of employers to minimize these risks. That is why our Team at MODUS continually search for ways to “add-value” to how we can learn about the latest trends, technologies, and practices in the field. It is a reminder that employers have a responsibility to provide a safe and healthy working environment for their employees, and that technology can play a significant role in achieving this goal.
