Site Safety Is A Top Priority

Site Safety Is A Top Priority

Here at Modus, we are deeply saddened to learn about the tragic incident that took place at a transport company’s depot in Yarraville back in 2020. Our hearts go out to all those affected by this unfortunate event.

It is crucial for us to emphasize the importance of prioritizing site safety audits and implementing a comprehensive traffic management plan to prevent such accidents from occurring in the future. We believe that every workplace where vehicles are present should have a well-designed traffic management plan in place to safeguard the lives and well-being of all employees.

In relation to this incident, we would like to share an article titled “$320,000 fine after worker run over by B-double” published by WorkSafe Victoria. https://www.worksafe.vic.gov.au/news/2023-08/320000-fine-after-worker-run-over-b-double

This article sheds light on the consequences faced by those who neglect their duty to ensure workplace safety. Narelle Beer, the WorkSafe Executive Director of Health and Safety, highlights the significance of a traffic management plan in preventing loss of life or serious injuries. WorkSafe Victoria is committed to taking appropriate action against any duty holder who fails to prepare and implement such a plan.

We want to emphasize that the cost of safety extends far beyond monetary expenses. It encompasses the emotional, physical, and mental toll that accidents can have on individuals and their loved ones. By conducting regular Site Safety Audits and implementing an appropriate Traffic Management Plan, we can mitigate these risks and create a safer working environment for everyone involved.

Let us remember that safety should always be a top priority, and by taking proactive measures, we can prevent future tragedies and ensure the well-being of all employees.
